Schneider Electric Miniature Circuit Breaker, Type C, 10kA Breaking Capacity – iDT40N Series – A9P24604
Need protection against short-circuit currents and overload currents? Schneider Electric’s miniature circuit breaker (MCB) provides just that. It has a 4A current rating and a Type C tripping curve, meaning it trips at 5 to 10 times the rated current. This makes it suitable for high-power devices where substantial surges can be expected. This MCB safeguards users against indirect contact with TN (transformer neutral) and IT (unearthed transformer neutral) systems by cutting power when a fault occurs between a live part and an external conducting element.
Features & Benefits
• DIN rail mounting style for easy and time-efficient installation and removal
• VisiSafe green strip indicates the safe position of contacts, providing protection during maintenance work on downstream currents
• VisiTrip technology gives a visual indication that the circuit has tripped, for quick fault detection and resolution and fast reclosing of loads
Applications
• Domestic circuits
• Fluorescent lighting
• Small transformers, pilot devices and coils
Why does this MCB have a padlocking device?
Padlocking the MCB prevents the circuit from being accidentally or deliberately switched on or off. Locking the MCB in an off position helps protect those working on a circuit, as no one can inadvertently turn the circuit on while work is being carried out.
